Boys Varsity Bowling, Girls Varsity Bowling · September Spotlight | @GatorsDkside Student-Athletes of the Month


The Timber Creek Athletic Department would like to recognize and congratulate seniors, Lucas Elmer and Darla Kammerzell on being voted as our Male and Female Gator’s Student Athlete of the Month for September. They both exemplified what it is to be a true “Student Athlete” on the field and in the classroom with their hard work, sportmanship and teamwork.


Lucas Elmer (Sr)
Boys Varsity Bowling
Lucas was nominated by Coach Delpazzo. Lucas is a senior and is member of the boys varsity bowling team. He led the boys team to a 7-1 record for the month of September. He also holds a match bowling average of 201 for the month. Lucas is a member of the Pre-Med club at Timber Creek and is involved in Helping the Homeless. Lucas maintains a 4.3 weighted GPA while taking multiple AP courses.

Lucas started taking bowling seriously during his junior and since then, has loved it ever since. He’s improved his bowling game from averaging just over 80 per game to over 200 per game. His plans for college are either get a full ride scholarship somewhere competing in bowling or attending UCF and majoring in Pre-Med. Some of his hobbies are playing bowling and hanging out with his girlfriend. A fun fact about Lucas is that he has over 100K followers on his TikTok making random videos that somehow people enjoy.

Way to go Lucas! Thank you for representing Timber Creek Athletics so well and all the best as you close out your final year as a Wolf!

Darla Kammerzell (Sr)
Girls Varsity Bowling
Darla was nominated by Coach Delpazzo. Darla is a senior this year and has led the girls team to a 5 win 2 loss record for the month of September. She holds a match bowling average of 168 for the month. She is a team leader, always willing to help out her teammates, stays focused and always motivated. She is a member of the BETA and Key Club as well as a chorus officer. Darla maintains an impressive 3.9 GPA while taking various Honors and AP courses.

Darla started bowling her sophomore year but didn’t start taking it seriously until this past June. She has competitively played soccer, golf, competed in swimming and done parkour. Darla is planning on studying biology or business when she goes to college. Some of her hobbies include: reading, writing, signing, bowling, skiing, hiking and embroidery. A few fun facts about Darla is that she has been to 42 of the 50 states and has moved 7 times to 5 different states.
