Hello Students, Parents and the TC Community!

The Timber Creek Wolves Athletic Department would like to announce our monthly contest for the 2020-21 athletic season brought to you by Gator’s Dockside of Waterford Lakes. Each month the Timber Creek coaches select a member(s) of their team that best exemplifies a Wolf Student Athlete. There is an emphasis on each of the players being an exemplary athlete, student, teammate and community member.

This month we will be recognizing two student athletes of the month for March. The winner will be chosen by the number of votes cast on our website. Voting for the Gators Student Athletes of the Month for March will run from today, 4/2 and will end on Wednesday, 4/7 at 2PM.  The winning student athletes will be announced next Thursday, 4/8 and will be recognized on our website for the month, receive a certificate of recognition and receive a gift from Gators Dockside of Waterford Lakes. We would like to thank each of the coaches that participated and would like to congratulate the following nominees that were chosen for consideration for the month of March:

Gators Male Student Athlete Nominees

Tyler Kelly (Sr)
Boys Varsity Weightlifting
Weight Class | 154lb

Tyler was nominated by Coach Crawford. Tyler had a strong performance for the month of March finishing metro and district champion for his weight class. He also maintains a 4.0 unweighted gpa,  5.1 weighted gpa while taking multiple AP courses and dual enrolls at Valencia. He is an officer in Mu Alpha Theta and a member of BETA club and the National Honors Society. Tyler is planning on attending UCF on an academic scholarship to study mechanical engineering.

Mikey Stroz (So)
Boys Lacrosse
Position | Attack

Mikey was nominated by Coach Gordon. Mikey has been our most productive offensive player so far this season averaging 3 points a game in March. He has a total of 19 goals and 8 assists in March. Two of his highlights in March include a 4 goal game against Olympia and a 3 goal 1 assist game vs District Rival Lake Howell. Mikey also has an impressive 3.72 unweighted GPA while taking multiple Honors courses.

Ethan Exhilhomme (Sr)
Boys Varsity Track & Field
Ethan was nominated by Coach Inglis. Ethan exhibits the qualities in an athlete that every coach dreams of:  He’s quiet, confident and humble yet has a refuse to lose attitude, dominates, and is fiercely competitive. He leads by example through his work ethic and accomplishments. Ethan is reliable and helpful to his teammates and coaches and just an all-around person of honor and integrity.  It’s been an honor and privilege to be his coach the past 2 years. Ethan won the conference championship in the 100, 110H, 200 and is the dominating anchor leg in a state ranked 4×1 team. Ethan is currently ranked # 1 in 4A in the 110hurdles and is ranked #3 in the state and #9 in the nation. He has committed to Northeastern University where he will continue his track career and study physical therapy.  The sky’s the limit for this young man.. looking forward to seeing his future unfold. Ethan also take multiple AP course while maintaining a 3.3 unweighted GPA. 

Yadiel Diaz (Sr)
Boys Varsity Volleyball
Position | Libero

Yadiel was nominated by Coach Stevens. Yadiel is captain of the team this season. He currently has 566 digs in his career and is 4 digs away from breaking the school record for digs. Yadiel also boasts a 3.87 unweighted GPA while taking multiple AP courses at Timber Creek.

Gators Female Student Athlete of the Month

Bella Sperry (Sr)
Girls Varsity Flag Football/Softball
Wide Receiver/1st Base

Bella was nominated by Coach Jackson and Coach Williams. Bella is juggling two sports this spring season, playing Softball and Flag Football. She has 11 catches for 141 yards and 2 touchdowns for Flag Football this past month. She leads the team in most stats for the month with a .378 batting avg, .425 OBP, 14 total hits, 1 HR and 13 RBIs. Bella is also a member of the SGA and PE Pit Crew Team. She also maintains  a 4.39 weighted GPA.

Lauren Berrios (Jr)
Girls Varsity Lacrosse
Position | Midfielder

Lauren Berrios was nominated by Coach Savage. Lauren starts every game and plays lights out against every competitor. She is the fastest girl on the lacrosse field. She currently leads the varsity team in goals scored (14) and ground balls (26). She is also vocal leader on and off the field. She maintains a 4.0 unweighted GPA while doing dual enrollment at Valencia and multiple AP courses at Timber Creek

Sydney Lake (Sr)
Girls Varsity Track & Field
Discus & Shot Put

Sydney was nominated by Coach Halsey. Sydney is a senior thrower on the track and field team. At the Metro East Conference Championships, Sydney placed first in the discus with a throw of 40.26 meters (132 feet, 1 inch).  She also placed 3rd in the javelin and 4th in the shot put.  Sydney is currently ranked second in the 4A State rankings and hopeful to win a State title.  Sydney is committed to Kennesaw State where she will throw hammer in the fall. Sydney maintains a 3.09 GPA as a multi-sport athlete.
